"At Stand Out Theatrics, I am passionate about helping students discover their talents and build their confidence through drama whilst creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students."

Laura Cooper
Laura embarked on her journey into the world of performance at the age of 11, igniting her passion at DLDC in Brisbane. Her dedication and talent propelled her to new heights, leading her to Sydney, where she not only honed her craft but immersed herself in the world of theatre and attained her Diploma of Performing Arts.
Upon graduation, Laura performed to audiences worldwide over a 15-year career. She performed at theme parks such as Warner Bros. Movie World and Universal Studios Osaka, and choreographed and performed for companies like Disney, Nickelodeon, Sony, and Cartoon Network. Her credits include appearances on Australian Idol, the Aria Music Awards, and the NRL Grand Final.
As the curtain fell on her dance career, Laura transitioned into the realm of choreography, teaching, and directing. Her journey took her to Los Angeles, where she spent eight years as a drama teacher, producing, directing, and choreographing musicals such as Mary Poppins, Aladdin, and The Wizard of Oz.
Now back on the stunning Gold Coast, Laura launched Stand Out Theatrics and finds joy in teaching speech, drama, and musical theatre at local schools. She also directs musicals at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), where she is continually inspired by her students as they tackle new challenges. Laura lives by the inspiring words of Oscar Wilde, "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken," and encourages her students to do the same, celebrating their uniqueness on and off the stage.
